Santhosh Palani

Dr. Santhosh Palani is the founder and Chief Investment Officer of PSP Research, a healthcare-focused investment management firm. Before founding PSP Research in 2024, Dr. Palani was an Investment Partner at PFM Health Sciences, where he led public and private biotechnology investments and served on the boards of companies focused on cell therapy and gene editing.

Prior to joining PFM in 2020, Dr. Palani was a Principal at New Enterprise Associates (NEA), where he invested in early-stage biotechnology companies and served on the boards of companies developing radiopharmaceuticals, cell therapies, targeted oncology treatments, and gene-editing technologies. From 2016 to 2018, he was a Vice President of Equity Research at Cowen and Company, covering small- and mid-cap biotechnology companies across a broad range of therapeutic areas. Earlier in his career, Dr. Palani worked in oncology drug development at Pfizer Inc. and Takeda Pharmaceuticals.

Dr. Palani holds a Ph.D. in bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania and completed postdoctoral training in biochemistry and molecular biophysics at Columbia University. He also holds an M.S. in chemical engineering from Texas A&M University and a B.S. in chemical engineering from the University of Madras. Dr. Palani is a CFA® charterholder.
